Footnotes (formerly Friends Footnotes) is our periodic newsletter for members and the library community.

 

Everything you need to know about the adult and youth summer reading programs for 2019, plus this year’s lineup for Jazz in July at the Civic Center Library. This issue also features articles about the early literacy program at the Livermore Library, and on the library’s planning for the future. And don’t miss the latest bookstore news.

This year’s summer reading program has something for everyone. Activities targeted for pre-readers, K-6 students, teens and adults are scheduled throughout the summer. This issue also has the Jazz in July lineup, featuring five great jazz groups performing at the civic Center Library weekends in July.

This issue features the 2018 Livermore Reads Together title, A Long Way Home. We also feature articles on National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and an interview with Sherri L. Smith, author of the LRT 2017 selection, Flygirl.

“Back in the Groove” features five great Jazz combos playing at the library in July. Articles about the 2017 Friends Volunteer of the Year, the Friends Authors & Arts Series, and our usual President’s Message are also included.

Lear about Create Lab, a pop-up makerspace that is geared toward children in elementary school. We also discuss the Writers Meetup for adults, a message on the value of public libraries authored by the Director of Library Services, and listings of upcoming Authors & Arts events.
