FOLL Approves Grant to Sponsor Tutor.com Subscription Pilot

The Friends of the Livermore Public Library Board of Directors approved a grant of $10,200 to sponsor a pilot program with Tutor.com, an online tutoring database and service developed by Princeton Review.

Tutor.com provides a full learning suite encompassing homework help, personalized tutoring, skills building, test preparation, self-study tools and job search assistance covering kindergarten-level through college-level plus adult learners and job seekers in over 50 different subjects and test prep areas. Tutoring sessions are one-on-one, and all tutors are vetted and background checked.

In January 2019, the Library started the Student One Card project, a partnership with the Livermore School District that turns every student’s ID into a Livermore Public Library Card. The program started with 9th grade students and will be expanded to all middle school and high school students this fall, making this the perfect time to pilot a database like Tutor.com. This grant will fund unlimited access and one-on-one sessions for library card holders to Tutor.com for one year.
